We warmly invite international programmers, curators, festival directors, and theatre professionals to the Dejvice Theatre Showcase, taking place on 29–30 April 2026 in Prague. As one of the most significant theatre companies in the Czech Republic, Dejvice Theatre has played a defining role in the country’s theatre landscape for over three decades. With a newly appointed artistic leadership, the company is entering a new chapter — opening itself more actively to international dialogue, touring opportunities, and co-production partnerships. This showcase is conceived as an introduction to our current artistic direction: strong ensemble work, contemporary dramaturgy, bold reinterpretations of classics, and original devised projects. We are eager to share our work beyond borders and to establish meaningful international collaborations.

About Dejvice Theatre

Founded in 1992, Dejvice Theatre has long been recognised as one of the most distinctive and influential Czech stages. The company’s identity is rooted in ensemble collaboration, strong dramaturgy, and a close dialogue with contemporary society.

Under its new artistic leadership, the theatre is expanding its international outlook while continuing to cultivate a bold and precise artistic language. A key figure in shaping this direction is director and playwright Jiří Havelka, whose work is characterised by collective creation, sharp social observation, and innovative dramaturgical structures.

The Galaxie Venue

Currently based in the former Galaxie cultural centre, Dejvice Theatre inhabits a remarkable, non-traditional space that significantly influences its artistic expression. The scale and raw architecture of the venue allow for ambitious scenographic concepts and new spatial relationships between performers and audiences.

The temporary relocation has become an artistic opportunity — opening new perspectives on staging, atmosphere, and audience experience.
